Who We Are
Our Team & Leadership
Young Faith in Christ (YFC) is blessed to have a staff that has the heart and commitment to provide the organizational framework of ministry that is to meet some of the emotional and spiritual needs of students. Our team also includes our dedicated Board of Directors; and of course our many loving and generous volunteers that Mentor and / or lead Bible clubs.
Mentor/Bible Club Coordinator
Tami has three grown children, three grandchildren (who she adores). She has always loved music, therefore, being in the church choir was her choice place of service. Tami has volunteered with Children's ministry, VBS, and Music & Missions in the past and hopes to get involved where she is currently attending at Parkland Chapel. Tami had felt a desire to serve in ministry for many years when she became the Mentor/Bible Club Coordinator where she served from 2013 until 2018. After being gone a few years, she returned in October of 2020 to help get the ministry back in action after Covid-19 caused a brief halt. Tami believes the work done at YFC is making a difference in many lives. The difference isn't just for the students that are mentored, the kids that attend Bible clubs, and the youth that visit the Skate Park. The volunteers are truly blessed as well. Tami has been mentoring two young ladies, now in high school, since they were in 2nd and 3rd grade.
Volunteer Office Manager
In 2008, Katie began volunteering at YFC on her day off as she was nearing retirement from her job as a teacher at the Department of Corrections. She volunteered as the full-time Office Manager for several years, then has since cut back to two days a week. Katie became a board member in 2017, where she also continues to serve. She lives in Doe Run with her husband David, is a member of Farmington First Free Will Baptist Church where she has directed the nursing home ministry for almost 30 years. She teaches a Sunday School lesson each Sunday at Camelot Skilled Care Home and Anna Dotson Boarding Home. Katie has two sons, Jack (deceased) and Stephen and wife Nicole.
Fairlight Renaud has had a passion for years to see young disillusioned students gain stability and freedom in Christ. After her own dad departed from his faith in Christ and abandoned his family, she set out on a quest to experience the power of the Gospel and research the claims of Jesus in the Bible. She has spent countless hours studying theology, evidence for God/creation, and godly boundaries for Christian families. Fairlight has studied Christian worldview at Ellerslie Discipleship Training School and Summit Ministries. In her free time, Fairlight is passionate about deep connections with her husband, Abe, spending time with family and friends, hiking, camping, hunting, singing, and playing piano. Fairlight also ministers on the worship team at Parkland Chapel.
