Michael and his family made the move to Farmington in 2021 to take on pastoring a church in Ironton, MO. With his wife of 23 years by his side, they’ve tackled many different ministry roles over the past decade. All these experiences have led him to the exciting role of directing Young Faith in Christ. Michael’s passion for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ is at the heart of everything he does. He lives by the words of C.T. Studd’s poem: “Only one life, ’twill soon be past; only what’s done for Christ will last.” When he’s not busy with ministry, Michael enjoys a simple and quiet life with his family, especially cherishing moments with his first granddaughter. He can’t wait to hear her call him “Grandfather” with a British accent! If he had to choose one person and one place to be, it would be his wife and anywhere they could be together. For downtime, he loves going for walks with his family or diving into one of the many books in his library.
Penny has been a Christian since she dedicated her life to Christ as a young woman. Though she gave her heart to the Lord as a 14-year-old teen through a gospel tract, she had no roots at that time. Later, at a small home church, she heard the gospel again and re-dedicated her life in late 1985. Once she made that decision, she never looked back. One of her passions in serving the Savior has been Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan's Purse. Through this ministry, she has been able to reach children all over the world for Jesus with the simple gift of a shoebox. Penny served as the project leader at her local church for over 12 years. Packing shoeboxes continues to be a passion for her in her current church. Penny has been happily married for nearly 40 years. She and her husband have two grown, married children and five fantastic grandchildren, who are the joy that overflows her cup. In her spare time, Penny enjoys sewing and crafting for her OCC shoeboxes, spending time with her husband, and hanging out with her family. She loves big family gatherings full of food and fun. Penny’s favorite scriptures are from Matthew 22:37-39: “Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
We are seeking individuals who have a deep love for Jesus, a passion for children, and a strong influence within the community to join our Board of Directors. Please prayerfully consider applying here.
